Academic Placement Exam (ACCUPLACER)

Please submit an prior to scheduling a placement exam.

The ACCUPLACER is a computerized placement exam that provides information about your academic skills in math, English, and reading.

ACCUPLACER test scores may take up to three business days to post to your account. Students will not be able to register for classes until ACCUPLACER scores are reflected on their MyÃÛÑ¿app account. Admitted ÃÛÑ¿app students who wish to take the ACCUPLACER placement test outside of the Reno area must complete and submit the Out-of-Area ACCUPLACER Request form.

Fees: ACCUPLACER testing is free for first-time test takers. All retakes are $20.00.

Scores: Range for the ACCUPLACER exam is 200-300. The exam is not pass/fail, it is a necessary assessment of your academic skills. The scoring data is used for course placement.

Retakes: Students may retake the English and Math placement test no sooner than 24 hours after the initial try.

ACT Math / ACT English Residual

ÃÛÑ¿app offers ACT Math/ACT English exams as an alternative pathway into math or English courses. Eligibility to take the ACT Math/ACT English Residual exams are based upon ACCUPLACER test scores.

Scores: Upon completion, scores will be graded and uploaded to your account.

Retakes: There is a six-month waiting period between exam retakes.

ACT WorkKeys

The ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (ACT WorkKeys NCRC®) is an assessment-based credentialed exam. The NCRC measures and certifies the essential work skills needed for success in jobs across industries and occupations. Each exam is 55 minutes in duration.

Fees: Workplace Documents: $40; Graphic Literacy: $40; Applied Math: $40; Applied Tech: $40 Workplace Observations: $50; Retake Fees: $25 per exam.

Scores: Scores are printed upon completion of examinations.

Retakes: There is a 24-hour waiting period between the 1st and 2nd attempts. There is a 30-day waiting period between 2nd and 3rd attempts.

Bilingual Fluency Certification Spanish Level I and II

The Bilingual Fluency Certification Spanish Level I and II are intended for teachers and other professionals who want to become certified fluent Spanish speakers.

Level I measures the ability to converse fluently in Spanish through an oral examination. The exam is approximately 30 minutes long. The exam is pass/fail. Scoring will be completed upon completion of the exam.

Level II measures written literacy, assessing correct grammatical skills and the ability to write, edit, translate and correct written documents. The exam is approximately 4 hours long. Please allow 7-10 days for your results to be processed.

Fees: Level I: $128.30; Level II: $168.50

Scores: Level I is a pass or fail. You will receive this score immediately after completion. Level II takes up to 7 to 10 business days for grading purposes.

Retakes: You can retake this examination unlimited times.

CAPE

Computerized Adaptive Placement Exam (CAPE) is a state-of-the-art computerized exam that accurately measures a person's proficiency in a foreign language. The exam is used for placement into foreign language courses. Note: This test is not for you if you are a heritage speaker. Please contact the Humanities Department to ask about other language testing options.

The CAPE exam provides placement into college-level foreign language courses. The exam does not grant college credit for any courses skipped due to ability. Scores are provided after completion of the exam. There is a six-week waiting period between exams.

CLEP

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers students the opportunity to demonstrate college-level proficiency in various undergraduate college course subjects.

There are thirty-three exams in five subject areas, covering content many see if their first two years of college coursework. Scores are available upon completion of the exam.

Scores: Scores are given after completion of the examination unless it is an English Composition exam. All passing scores are a 50.

Dental Hygiene Pre-Admission Assessment

The Dental Hygiene Pre-Admissions Assessment consists of three exams: HESI, dexterity, and spatial relations. Each exam must be completed before the application deadline to apply for entry into the Dental Hygiene Program.

• The Dental Hygiene HESI exam may be taken up to 3 times (lifetime). There is a four-week waiting period between attempts. The highest score in each category will be accepted.
• The Dental Hygiene Dexterity may be taken up to two times (lifetime). There is a four-week waiting period between attempts. The highest score will be accepted.
• The Dental Hygiene Spatial Relation test may be taken up to two times (lifetime). The exam is 15 minutes in duration and consists of 35 multiple-choice questions. The highest score will be accepted.

High School Equivalency (HSE) Testing

ÃÛÑ¿app Testing Center offers two HSE exams: the GED exam, and the HiSet exam. Successful completion of either exams earns a Certificate of High School Equivalency issued by the state of Nevada.

Both assessments cover the same subject matter. The exam aims to demonstrate proficiency in academic skills expected by employers and post-secondary institutions. You are not required to take the HSE preparation classes to take the examination.

Fees: GED: $100.00; HiSET: $78.75

Scores: Scores for both GED and HiSET will be available online within 24 hours of taking the examinations.

Retakes: For GED, there is a 24-hour waiting period between failed attempts. For HiSET, testers may only attempt each subject three times within the calendar year. Retakes must be used within the year of the initial purchase.

Non-ÃÛÑ¿app Proctored Testing

Testing Services offers proctoring for non-ÃÛÑ¿app students who need exams proctored for courses taken at other institutions. This service is available by appointment only. The Testing Center will provide material for your exam (paper, pencils, etc.). Any additional material will be determined by your institutional instructor.

Please note we will not allow you to schedule your exam until all exam material and instructions have been provided by your institution. We are not responsible for the time need to submit and process these requests.

Fees: $30 per hour

Scores: The institution requesting the proctoring services will score all examinations.
