Financial Aid

Using scholarships to pay for college expenses is a great way to reduce student loan debt and build your resume. At ÃÛÑ¿app our students are afforded the opportunity to make use of scholarships from the following:

ÃÛÑ¿app Foundation Scholarships

Designed to award achievement and encourage academic excellence, the ÃÛÑ¿app Foundation provides scholarships to ÃÛÑ¿app students on an annual basis. Funds are provided by private donors wishing to assist ÃÛÑ¿app students with their educational goals. Scholarship awards are based on many factors: scholastic merit and financial need and other factors.

As a current or prospective ÃÛÑ¿app student, you are eligible to apply for scholarships beginning January 1 annually. The priority deadline is March 1.

SGA Green Door Scholarships

SGA Green Door Scholarships are offered to DACA and FAFSA non-filer students by the ÃÛÑ¿app Student Government Association (SGA). Eligibility is based on completion of the Institutional Methodology form, enrollment in a minimum of 3 degree eligible credits, and enrollment in math or English each semester until the degree requirements are met in both of those subjects. The award is $300 per semester for up to two semesters per academic year.

Institution, State, and Federal Scholarships

There are some scholarships made available to students in the form of grants when they complete the FAFSA. There are also organizations that provide funding for schools such as Americorp or Veterans Education Benefits. Additionally, there may be scholarships available by various degree programs, departments and the Student Government Association.

Off-Campus (External) Scholarships

There are many students who have been awarded a scholarship from an outside agency and want to apply their award to their costs of attending ÃÛÑ¿app. In most instances, the organization granting the award mails a check to the Financial Aid Office, indicating the student’s name and NSHE ID number in the memo line.

Students seeking external scholarships have many resources. Our External Scholarship Board is available both online and in person at the Financial Aid Office. Additionally, scholarship workshops are held throughout the year; please check the .

Tribal Scholarships

Scholarships for eligible Native Americans are offered through the individual tribes and some national organizations. Students initiate the application process by contacting their respective tribal office.
