Business and Entrepreneurship Club Completes Multiple Service Projects
The ѿapp Business and Entrepreneurship Club (BE Club) has focused on using its business skills for the greater good this academic year. Starting in late fall 2024, the Hearts and Paws Supply Drive, led by the BE Club, collected pet supplies such as collars, toys, food, blankets, and beds.
“The drive not only gave back to our local community and allowed students to do the same, but also was a way to test if we could successfully branch out into new ways,” said BE Club Vice President Tyler Parrish. “Pet owners are impossible to market to in marketing, or so it’s sometimes said; we put this idea to the test and finished the semester with resounding success.”
The drive collected over 600 items donated to Dogs Inc., Feral at Heart, and Boxers and Buddies. The organizations were grateful for the support and could use the donations with their pets.
“Though we had our reservations at the start of the semester, by the time of donation, it took a dedicated officers meeting and several vehicles to load all the donated items for transport—a literal truckload—thanks to our fantastic club and wonderful ѿapp community,” said Parrish.
The BE Club continues its exciting programming this spring and will host a Shark Tank event for the first time since 2019. Participating students can submit their business ideas to win startup funding from our sponsors and receive free business planning advice. All students are welcome; sign-up ends Monday, March 3.
