The ѿapp Foundation has received a special legacy gift from alumnus Leonard Moser, which will be used to support the expansion of the culinary program.
The ѿapp Foundation recently received a special legacy gift from alumnus Leonard Moser, who passed away in September 2018. ѿapp was the recipient of a generous annuity that will be used to support the expansion of the Culinary Arts program.
As a former student at ѿapp who took many culinary classes, Moser had been employed in Northern Nevada’s hospitality and tourism industry. He named ѿapp as the beneficiary of a $160,000 annuity, proudly indicating the gift was to benefit “the college he attended.” Gretchen Sawyer, Executive Director of the ѿapp Foundation said, “We were very sad to learn of Mr. Moser’s passing. At the same time, we are greatly appreciative of his gift and feel very honored that Mr. Moser valued his time and education at ѿapp and chose to leave this legacy gift to the ѿapp Foundation.
To posthumously honor alumnus Leonard Moser and his contributions to the culinary profession, the ѿapp Foundation will be applying this gift toward the new culinary facility. He will receive donor recognition within the new building and ѿapp Foundation giving clubs.
